What should I do now?

"I never imagined unicorns to look like you," she said with small hesitation."I never imagined little girls to look like you," the unicorn smiled warmth in their eyes. The girl snorted a giggle. “Guess that makes us even then.”The runt of a crow watched as they walked by. Oh, what a strange sight! A girl walking down the old path, waving as she passed by. Oh, dear. The unicorn should have known better. When there was a girl… there would soon also be a knight.

The Spring Artexhibition is coming soon and I decided to revisit one of my old ideas. Last time I took part in an exhibition at my hometown, I drew this girl with a flower with normal pencil. Perhaps it also had ink. I don’t know where that old work is so I can’t compare, but this was fun little thing to do.

Had a great weekend at my parents with my good friend, whose comic was our main discussion point!

So the first two bats are Pawn and cafekeeper Daphne, belonging to Bitter.

The second, giraffe, was actually just her request:

"A giraffe drinking from one of those long swirly twingy straws!"

And she ended up looking skinny and fab like Ola from the same comic so…. Let this be Ola-fanart! yay!

kanofworms asked: Thanks for your comic 'True Story.' I've really struggled with that for a long time now and have only recently started to push myself to finish and do better. Have you learned any tips or tricks in your experience? Thanks

Well done, jolly good indeed!
Aaaaand as for the question: I would love to say “Yes! I’ve learnt a punch and will never struggle again” but alas, this is not the case. What I did learn was
1: to consentrate on my steps.

2: Not to design, sketch or schedule ANYTHING! Planning works on some people but apparently it never works for me. There for, even if I would love to say I am designing to continue “True story” I can not: it would just jinx it.

3: avoid perfection, aim for progress! This is still a big struggle: half way I realise everything I do is poop and want to restart the whole project. “True story” was not exception, but I just kept going.

4: “I am bad, and that’s good. I’ll never be good and that’s not bad. There is no-one I rather be, than me”. When I struggle getting stuff out of my system, I tend to get distracted fretting about what people might think or what is expected from me and I end up trying too hard and not getting anything done. AT. ALL!

5. Stay the fuck away from tumblr/netflix/steam if you want to get anything done.

6. Finish and publish stuff even if you think it’s poop. That way it is out of your system and you can move on.

These are just points that have worked for me. Until September I used to do the opposite and I never prodused anything.

TL,DR: Don’t try or think: do! Progress over perfection.

Good luck with the art stuff! We are in the same boat, mate. <3

Shioban and Blitch finally finding lots of food and R’Ha stating an obvious reason for why it has been untouched by everything and everyone. One of the reasons I despise my scanner every now and then is the way it molests colors on my traditional works. In the end, this wasn’t even that good originally, but still.
